Genting Trip

It was the 24th Decemeber when we merrily made our way to Malaysian's "air-con" entertainment, Genting Highlands. My mum brought along quite a picnic of things.


That's until I saw this taxi. Haha, we can't compare to this guy...


Dad got himself a "suite" so he said my sister and I could bring a friend along. Guess who I gleefully brought along.


It's had been quite a long long while since I stayed in Awana. Normally I'll stay in First World. Much cheaper.


There were a lot of people that were staying at Awana.


Nonetheless, I took this time to stop and smell the flowers.


When our room was ready, I opened the door and went straight to this. Nah.. Loads of stuff to bring in. How I wished I stayed in this bed.


Instead, we find ourselves at the end of a long long "dragon" (as Pui Yee puts it). Had two complimentary skyway passes so we didn't drive up. If there were this much people here, can you imagine what the situation would be up there?


Well, you guessed it. There were long long lines at everything. Restaurants, toilets, Rides, etc... So our plan to have fun at the outdoor themepark was thrown out the window.


Instead, Pui Yee and I had fun taking photos. Like this deco at First World hotel.


And this insanely coloured decoration also at First World.


Since we couldn't have fun running around Genting, we could only imagine ourselves running around in this mini replica of Genting.


Even our break at Starbucks with our hot chocolate couldn't stop our photo frenzy.


Actually, we just wanted a place to lounge around to enjoy Malaysian's natural air-con.


It's undeniable that the Christmas feeling was in the air. There were many people running around with funny red hats.


That of course, included us.


Although I don't celebrate Christmas, it's fun to join in once in a while.


Although Christmas has been globally-marketed, it should be about the love,


the wonderful food (I can't help putting food in),


the company you keep,


And having a good time.


It doesn't stop us from being naughty... Hehe.


So if you were wondering why I wasn't online during Christmas eve and Christmas, I was up at Genting with my family and friends, having a ball... Despite being in a crazyly overcrowded Genting.

Thank God for Holidays

Joy is the day when the last assignment was done and presented on Thursday morning. [jumps around in glee] [stops]

Though this assignment had caused my absence from some interesting events like comic fiesta (16-17 Dec), the Penang Drawing field trip (18-20 Dec) & Rony Little's BBQ party (20 Dec), I shall not go about pouting since it's really something I brought upon myself. [sigh] Well besides the grim idea of waiting for the impeding results now, I'll just turn my attention to other things... merrier things.

What better way to celebrate the holidays than eating out in luxury with the best-est friend in the world~? Yup, ate a simply scrum-dili-yum-ous lunch at Cafe Flam with Pui Yee.

Must say their atmosphere is really nice...


Look at all them pretty bottles. Expensive things I assure you.


Even the food is a sight for sore eyes. Their seared Seabass was so lovely and yummy too.


My dish of Prawn Spaghetti was delicious. Yum... V____V


Interestingly enough, their dessert was nothing short of great presentation and taste either. Let's just say we really took our own sweet time there while Pui Yee updated me of all them events I missed.

Yesterday night was Winter's Solstice. A celebration where that night would be the last hearty meal before winter settles in. During Winter, family in China fall back onto dried and preserved food. So dinner during winter's solstice is apparently the last good meal of good, fresh food you can eat. I don't know how accurate this is. I'm falling back on my memory after all.

Regardless the history, my mum takes this day rather seriously. Everyone must be back to eat dinner together, be it by hook or by crook. So that makes it another sort of reunion dinner thing.

So what's with the deal with this dinner? Well, since way back when; Winter in China was a harsh season and it was considered lucky if you could survive through Winter. That's why we celebrate this "survival" with Chinese New Year when spring arrives and there's a day when it's everyone's birthday.

Good food. Seriously good~!


All are my mum's cooking. She's the best cook around and so when she cooks, it's an honour really. But she can be pretty snappy when she's busy in the kitchen. That's why I stay clear of the kitchen area. I tend to break stuff anyway.. [excuses, excuses] Hehe.

Celebrations~!

Whew~! It's like early in the morning when I could be nicely lazing in bed with Mr sunshine high in the sky... lazy days have arrived. Hehe.

Yesterday was a whirlwind of events. The morning started with a serving of movie. Went to watch the "Night at the Museum" at Midvalley. We went for the 11am show and yet that wasn't even to escape the ridiculous saturday jam.


The movie's really really really good and extremely funny~! Worth the RM11 it cost to go watch it. It's definitely better than Happy feet and Eragon. So go watch it.


Anyway, Midvalley's dressed for the Christmas occasion. I must admit that they really placed much effort into putting all this together and having all the Christmas activities.

Lots of people still doing their last-minute shopping. Probably explains why there were still so many people..

After the trip to Midvalley, I only had time to come back home, shower and drive out again. I made my way to the college to meet up with Noriko, Chris, Zero, Rony, Hong Wai, Fai-Fai, Chee Boon, Vivian, Pui Yee, Michael, Albert, Antony in the evening.

The plan: Go to eat seafood dinner in Klang. The occasion was Noriko's birthday. Was suppose to have it yesterday (22nd, Friday) but postponed due to Chinese festival, winter's solstice.

So when we all arrived (went in 4 cars + chris' cool new Vios), we made our way to Eugene's house, by a map certified by him. Hahaha. I parked my car at his house and hopped into his car with Noriko & Pui Yee (Kya-ness~!). The reason being I can neither drive fast nor follow well in the night... There, Eugene took over the navigation and directed us to our first stop (now down to 3 cars).


This is Noriko and Vivian. ^___^ There were the 14 of us, and 4 of us are girls. So it's not surprising to say that the food disappeared in 15 minutes. Boys. Hahaha.. It's as if we haven't ate in 5 years. Like hungry ghosts.


Even with all that food, it wasn't enough. With the urge of eating crab, we moved on to the second spot. Here, we got ourself plenty of beer.

I haven't drank beer since the first time I tasted beer, so that's like 10 years ago. Nonetheless, I drank merrily with all my friends.


We enjoyed the crabs and the tiger beer.


Now I know why people like to go out, hang with friends, eat and drink.


That day I drank 5 and 1/3 cups of beer. Frankly speaking, it wasn't enough. Muahaha~! I'll have to look forward to the next drinking outing. Noriko, I want to drink~!

Christmas is here and I want to wish everyone good health and Happy Christmas~!

It was so lovely

How does one celebrate a 21st birthday? I guess there isn't a right or wrong way to do it. But it's great to start it with the opening of birthday gifts at the stroke of midnight~! Hahaha~!

Some were so lovely (the wine bottle from noriko & co, the pendant from my MM family, notebook & bedsheet from puiyee, perfume from bard), some cute ones (doggie doll from zie, cow figure & poring doll from mel & clare, cup set from chris), and some odd ones (a bright pink doll from jess, a book of weird newspaper articles from michael, a set of cow stuff from my mum).

Anyway, the morning started with me returning overdue library books to the KL library. Met puiyee there.

Got a summon for parking my car on the wrong side of the road.. note: I parked there since forever and this was the first time getting a summon. Since there was a DBKL nearby, I thought I may as well settle the summon myself like grown-ups do. I bet you that there were no 2 other people with all smiles going to pay their summons (that would be puiyee and I).


Didn't know there was such a thing as a drive through DBKL counter.


After paying my RM30 fine, I drove pass Coliseum restaurant. This place has an interesting atmosphere and good food. I'd recommend anyone to go there so long as you're prepared to pay more. It's worth it~!


Went for lunch here with puiyee & karen. puiyee told me that this place was really nice and great for tea lovers. Tadaa~! Purple cane in KL (near Uda ocean).


I think it's lovely to come to a great tea place with tea-lovers. I'm still learning to appreciate tea. These two are real tea people. Hehehe.


We actually have to boil the water ourselves with a kerosene stove.. It's a simple stove with nice chinese cravings.


Apart from tea, I ordered rose honey drink. It's super lovely for a sweet tooth person like me. It's all the better that I like honey and roses too. This drink rocks~! Not to worry, the tea counter-acted the sugar-highness.


We got this one too. Mixed fruit tea. Puiyee says it was nicer last time when they used fresh fruits instead of canned fruits like this.


Bwahaha~! I gave karen her belated birthday & early christmas gift. Surprise~!


I got this. Honey Lemon Chicken chop rice with tea rice. Yummy~!


Puiyee ordered this Spring Roll with Rice. Too bad they dumped chilli sauce on the rice.

Oh yeah, Karen got herself a fishcake noodles. I love them fishcakes~!


For dessert, Honey Fried Buns. Didn't expect them to serve them like this. It was sweet too. Nice~!


The funny thing was we're tea lovers and camera addicts as well. This shot explains it all.


These are the tools for the tea making process. But since they had modernized it a little, the tools were rather redundant. For example, the tea leaves come in packets instead of blocks.


It's really fun to boil your own water and then drink hot tea. Get to play with fire~!


All in all, this place has a nice atmosphere but be warned, this place gets packed on school days. Lucky for us, we came at the school holidays.


After a hearty lunch, we made our way back to school. But before that, I took this shot.


Going back to school on the school holidays is not that fun. Need to pay Rm200 to resubmit my mmps.. [sigh] That aside, we came to times square and looky what we have here. Christmas decorations.


What fun to take christmas deco. If you're trigger happy like me, you'll be glad to take things too. Hahaha


The deco isn't something too fancy but I'll give them points for effort and consistency. There were multiple trees everywhere in this gigantic shoppping complex.


Puiyee and I went for dinner here. I suppose it should be something more fancy but hey, I'm broke after buying them computer stuff. Hahaha~! What was for dinner?


A good dish of cawamushi with Ebi Udon.


And a simple dish of Chicken Teppanyaki with a mountain load of taugeh. Hahaha~!

After dinner, puiyee brought me to go trim my hair. There were a lot of people, so I play a game with puiyee. It's so much fun to play games when waiting, it takes the mind off concerning of the time. I had so much fun on my birthday. Thanks so much puiyee, karen. Love you all to bits~! Cheers~!
