A Season of Peace

Gosh, I've not written here in a long long time but it's hard to come write when nothing much happens. To some, life is a dramatic series which your usual twist-and-turn scenarios. Luckily for me, mine is not of those types... I can probably name a few too.

The only thing going on these days are my vocal classes. I don't sing well but then again, I enjoy singing so I don't plan to torture anyone with it... yet. Hehe~!

I also met up with some of my friends from secondary. Yam and Li-li are going back to Russia by the end of this week and Nini's already back in Johor. I hope to meet up with them again next time.

Other else than that, did I fail to mention that I'm going to gym again? Back to fitness first after a few years of absence... I don't think that'll be enough to drastically change me to fabulously thin. Take a hike, weird-imaginary-ambition~!

While I'm still into this randomly ranged topics, last Sunday I helped with the burning of the offerings for the hungry ghosts of my neighbourhood.... for hungry ghost festival, of course.

Curiously was when my younger sis and I were setting the offerings down by the road (paper money, paper coins, paper clothes that don't look like clothes, those that do look like paper shirts, more paper clothes that comes in a set, joss stick, candles, dead people biscuits (aka biskut pusar) and fruits that look like langsat but the name escapes my mum's memory), there was no wind at all.

But after we burn the offering for the *"controller" of the event and set the rest aflame, the wind starts to pick up... the flames even try to reach for the food, the biscuit and fruit (which were meant to be burnt anyway). I like burning stuff... teehehehe~!

I actually thought of taking a few photos of the event but the possibility of some of you guys being able to see something I didn't, crossed my mind and I thought against it. Plus there was an old chinese supersition that the camera could capture your soul... Don't mess with the supernatural is a good advice.

*In case you were wondering about the controller, I'm going to try to explain it like this. Imagine that we were going to give out free stuff to the needy. Without someone to oversee it, it could get ugly... should the needy break out into fights, that is. Now replace the needy with hungry ghosts. So ya, we initiate the giving offering after first burning for the controller.

That's all I got for now. Catch ya next time. Cheers~!
