Yea, I'm feeling empty at the moment... Not much going on these days...

Just trying to pass the days with the following

• cooking,
• buying groceries,
• travelling with the train....

can't swim at the moment with my finger injury (unless i wear a glove to swim, which I am not that desperate to do just yet)

[snicker] I wonder if that's considered a lot in someone else's list... XD

Let's see.... since the finger injury, it's hard for me to do some stuff...

1. Shower is one.... i have to keep my finger as high as possible throughout the entire process. It's as if I'm holding my hand up to answer questions in class....
2. As interesting as it sounds, it's not really that hard to cook with the injury but when it comes to washing the dishes, it's a horror... I wash the dishes... slowly
3. Typing on the keyboard is not affected... but writing and drawing... I can still hold the pen / pencil just the middle finger normally used to tigthen my grip and now it's retarded.
4. Holding chopsticks is fine but using them... zero skills... I didn't realise how much I relied onm y middle finger to use the chopsticks. On the occassions I need to use the chopsticks, I just hold the chopsticks, use the spoon and bring my mouth closer to the food. It's not obvious that I can't use the chopsticks that way.

Other than that, nothing much... since I don't do the middle finger swear word or something. I tried to ignore the injury; most noticed my injury and asked about it, the rest if they did notice, didn't ask. [grin]

It's been a week now since it happened and it still looks the same... it's still there. [sigh] Until next time then, cheers~!

On a more serious note, I'm falling sick now. At first, I thought I was overheating / heaty. I admit my work schedule isn't the healthy (to generalise, I work at night until 4 /5 am, sleep and then wake up at 10am, class, lunch, afternoon sleep from 4pm to 8pm, dinner while watching tv then work {repeat cycle})

11th October 2008

First a lovely shot of beautiful clouds. Then the bad news; my weekend was terrible. What I had thought was heaty turned out to be fever. [lol] I was battling the cold the whole of the weekend... to the point on Sunday (12th October) evening, my cheeks were flushed, my brain was mush and I had to take an emergency afternoon nap [snicker] Well, seeing that I actually didn't want to take the nap and do work but I had to since I was not working optimumly... seems like an emergency afternoon nap to me.

If you were wondering just why I named the post as I did... note now that I have been typing this post while my right hand was like this [points to the photo below] Oopss... I photographed off my thumb [takes another photo]
Ah~! There we go. So yea, I was trying to prepare some campbell soup when I accidentally cut myself pretty badly with the can. I was just so glad that my roommate, Natalie and her bf were there to help me, called the Resident Assistance (at least that's what I think RA means) and drove me to the Richmond hospital called Epworth Healthcare (8pm) and waited for me until 11.20pm.

This little accident cost me $244.75. On the random note, I still came back and finished cooking "dinner" with a little help from Evelyn. Thanks everyone~! Cheers~!

Jaslyn's Lucky Birthday~!

5th October 2008 BREAD KINGDOM~! That the new bread shop that opened opposite safeway and I visted it on their opening day. Since I had a craving for pastries, I bought this honey castella and also an orange pound cake. Evelyn also bought a banana cake.

The total for all that is Aus 9.70. XD I even got a free pack of garlic bread~! Expensive I know but it's cake.. [puppy dog eyes]

6th October 2008 Hurray~! Another birthday to celebrate. Means another cake to indulge. Heheh~! Thanks Jaslyn~! ^_^ Oh, I took this flower photo in front of Pauline's house. Lots of pretty flowers.
We went to Crown Entertainment Complex to eat dinner. The name of the restaurant is Giuseppe Arnaldo & Sons. Italian restaurant. That's Yoong Yoong.
And that's Man Yee. The interior of the restaurant is pretty dark so the photos are pretty dark too.. Having to use the "anti-shake function" and no flash means pixelated photos.

So after dinner and cake, we headed to the arcade to play a 7 player motorcycle game~! Yea... a motorcycle racing game.
Perfect for big gang of people like us who want to play a game where we all can play together... I scored... 7th place BUT no one scored 1st (we assume that the computer did since most likely we were all pretty bad. Evelyn was 2nd... I don't know who came in last [shrugs]

Here's something interesting. After arcade, Aaron proposed that each of us chip in Aus5 for the birthday girl to play roulette. And she was lucky~! Hehe~! Well. Lucky enough since she did win (one $5 chip betting 10 with 3 other numbers). ^_^

After that, I really just crashed and slept til the next morning... [sigh] I seriously got to get serious with work. Until next time, cheers~!

Lohon's Birthday

Let me first spam the blog with sunset photos...

Normally when it's nearing sunset time since I work on my laptop very near the window, sitting on a roller chair, I look out the window and see what colour the sky is...
If I see something like this, I open my window and look at my favourite sunset view...
Love cloudy skies because the light play on them so very nicely. And after a few minutes, the colours change again. It's like I subscribed to nature's sunset profiles. [grin]

1st October 2008

I was invited to a bbq lunch to celebrate Lohon's belated birthday. ^_^ Happy belated birthday ya~! The place we were celebrating was by the Yarra river. As we were walking, we came to where we had gathered to watch the fireworks during the Moomba festival (March 2008 post) . There were some fancy looking signs with red shoes.. [points to the signboard in the photo above]
Honestly what I love about Melbourne is the arts scene here. So many new and interesting statues and events. It's certainly a colourful city. ^_^
We were walking along in the park when we came to a dusty road and trees like this [points to the photo above] and totally didn't anticipate that this was where we were having the bbq... It doesn't look like a place someone would have a bbq.... Well, at least to me....
But then again, what's more important is that we gathered together to celebrate a special occassion. Hehe~! The birthday boy, Lohon.
Sorry if it doesn't look pretty but it taste good. Hahaha~! They had started at 12.30pm and I only came along at 2pm since I had class before that.

Anyway, after our bbq, we began to pack things and clean up the place. Yes, we clean very well ok. It's easier for us to be civic conscious if everyone around us are too. Maybe another bunch of people will come after us to celebrate someone special's birthday...

By right, all the photos are suppose to be cloudy dark... Heh, I used photoshop to make the colours a little sharper than they really are...

More cake~! I love sweets. Been craving for chocolate for quite a while. This one has creme brulee in it...
