The Little Green Monster in My Mind

Shush~! For I'm going to tell you,
A tale about a hippo,
Who had a little Green Monster,
Living in her mind;

"I have a little green friend,
Who sits inside my mind;
He is sometimes quiet,
But often very loud."

I sit across the river,
And see many animals;
They are all having so much fun,
And I alone on cold, hard rock.

'Aren't they having all the fun?
They don't want you to join them..
You're nothing but a plump hippo,
Big, Fat and Clumsy.'

"Oh shush, my Little green Friend,
For you hurt me so,
I must get rid of this monster,
Before he gets too loud.

Oh, dear rock,
Could you coax
My Little green Friend
From inside my Mind?"

~I take each wave of the river,
To my stride with ease;
I know my capabilities,
Maybe you don't know yours?~

'He speaks trumpery,
What does he know?
He has been here since the start of time,
You, silly hippo~!'

I walk to the river,
Thinking all so hard,
About how to get rid,
Of my Little green Friend;

Near the river sits,
A tiny but pretty mushroom;
Cute as a button,
And joyous as the sun;

"Oh, dear 'shroom,
Could you cajole
My Little green Friend
From inside my Mind?"

-I don't know what you speak of,
For it is fun I seek,
Probably it's better,
If you played a bit?-

'She has the sun as her friend,
And you none, ha~!
What does she know?'
You, silly hippo~!'

I walk into the river,
Where I met a beautiful river dolphin,
Seen by all and loved by all,
Her friendly ways a treat to all;

"Oh, lovely dolphin,
Could you wheedle
My Little green Friend
From inside my Mind?"

#I'm not from around here,
Yet I've made many friends;
But from where I come from,
I don't know of a green one;#

'Why are you talking
To such a pretty thing like her?
What does she know?'
You, silly hippo~!'

Across the river,
Sits a knight under a tree;
He is ever so busy,
Shining his sword;

"Oh, gallant Knight,
Could you get rid of
My Little green Friend
From inside my Mind?"

^Go away, you big ugly thing~!
Can't you see with your tiny eyes
That I'm too busy to help you
With your stupid request?^

'Haha, yes you stupid thing
Can't you see you're not worth it?
What does he know?'
You, silly hippo~!'

Sad and distraught,
The big blue hippo
Walked far from the river,
And onto a run-down farm;

Out walks a puppy,
From her dark doghouse;
With a twinkle in her eyes,
And a funny little hop in her steps;

*What's wrong, Ms Hippo?
You may not look it but you look hurt,
Come tell, me for I will surely,
Aid you the very best I can.*

'There no way that
A weak brown pup could help you
You'll never rid of me!
You, silly hippo~!'

"Oh, please little one,
Could you convince
My Little green Friend
From inside my Mind?"

The puppy wags her tail,
And asks the hippo,
To lend her her ear,
For there was a secret to tell;

*Miss Hippo, I must tell you
You're Little green Friend
Will never go but the least
I can do it not let it grow.*

Here's the secret
that the little puppy,
Whispered gently
Into my ear;

*Will you be my Friend?*
With these five words,
My Little green Friend
Kept very very quiet.

To which I whispered back,
To my new little friend;
"Of course I will
And forever more."

BBQ Party

Monday, 12th March 2007. We threw a BBQ party at my house.

The party was to start at 7pm. Lucky for me; Rony, Jonz, Zero, Noriko and Pui Yee came earlier to help me. I had fetched Pui Yee from school and the rest came at 5.40pm.

The boys helped me with the fire while the Noriko and Pui Yee helped me with the preparation of the food.
The others didn't come as early. Since we had the fire going, we started without them.
For me, I'm one who enjoys smaller group of people. Hard to host for large groups. They tend to group themselves without me. Happens all too often. [sigh]

Haha~! I must point out that Jonz is our BBQ king. He must have thrown loads of BBQs to be so good with BBQ stuff.

We had chicken wings, prawns, corn, marshmallows, etc... Apparently most of them didn't know that marshmallows is a BBQ food.

The second group of people only came at 8.40pm. That's 3 hours after the 1st group. Chris, Hong Wai, Michael, Vivian, Nicole, Tukkun.

Oh ya. Last minute I was told that it was Ai Lee's birthday. I had to rush out to buy a cake because it was near closing time.

I had to also fetch dear lost Ai Lee to my house so while I was away, the rest decided to do their photo spam..
"Any nearer and I BBQ her head..."

"Take photo and send to lecturers to show them what they're missing. Muahaha~!"
"The great helper of the day~!"

"Cheese~!"

"Wa~! The flash so bright~!"

"I want to stand next to Noriko also~!"

"Cheers~!"

Spam, spam~!

Oh, more spam~!

It's obvious to state that this set of people enjoy taking photos of themselves... hahaha~!

Tada~! Surprise, surprise ms Ai Lee.

It's nice to have a surprise birthday cake, no?

Out, out brief candle on this joyous occasion.

"Aiyak~! I think we should get someone to eat the chocolate from the center..."

"Ai Lee, since you're the birthday girl, come come"

"Try to take the chocolate without using your hands, ya...". Moments after this, they pushed Ai Lee's face to the cake~! Too bad I couldn't get the shot. I didn't know they were going to do that.

Ai Lee's such a good sport.

"Look, Ai Lee's face print on the cake"

Noriko was really shocked about the others doing that to Ai Lee.

Well, it was done in good spirits. No great harm to Ai Lee.

BBQ is a group activity.

Chap Goh Mei Special

Ah. I almost forgot that on Chap Goh Mei night my family and I went up to Tien Hou Kong.

It was really bright and colourful there. Look the zodiac in lights.

There were even performers on stilts.

They really put a lot of effort in attracting people here.

There was even a traffic jam when we were coming here.

Being Malaysia, there were other religions on lights display as well.

Wow, wau~!

There was quite a crowd here. It was loud too.

That's because they had a stage with performance on. Err... since they were speaking in Mandarin, I couldn't really understand what was going on.

Nonetheless, my reason for coming here was for the temple.

My younger sister approximated that there were 1225 lights in this section.

It was really red outside the temple.

The view from the temple was nice. You probably can't see it here, but from here, I could see KL tower and twin towers in the distance.

Lucky there wasn't that much smoke as there were people... I got "kau chim" at the temple. I hope you guys know what I'm talking about here. Asked about education path, and this was the message I got; No. 27 - Let nature take it own course. Comforting but not really helping... [sigh]

Hmm... there had the 12 zodiac statues in the garden. Since there were lots of people on the Ox statue, I only managed to take photo of the description of personality of those born in the year of the Ox.

Did I mention that there were a lot of people? =D

The finale of the day was the massive scale of fireworks.

They were really pretty to look at.

Though at one point I was thinking like this...

"Waa.. so much money up in smoke..."

"Oh... the money.." Hahha~! I did enjoy the fireworks. Honest~!
